A spectacular opening ceremony that was low key enough on spending, but evident in the culture of the hosts and the embracing of athletes from all over the world. Rio 2016 is underway and our Martina Rizzelli was at the front of the Italian team (first left of photo) joining in on the celebration that is the Olympic spirit and ideal of competitive sport. Andy Murray was the flag bearer for Team GB and with his co-atheletes, the squad has been set a target of 48 medals in order to beat the previous tally and make Rio the most successful overseas haul ever. The spirit of the Olympics was as poignant as ever with the inclusion of the Refugee Team who were given a long and deserved ovation. They came into the ceremony just before the hosts, Brazil.
